The founder, solicitor, Rodney Borde-Kuofie, turned his passion for sports and music into his business. Starting as a young musician and competing in multiple sports at the highest youth level; he formed Rubikon after working at leading London Human Rights Law firm, B.M Birnberg & Co.

Having already embarked on a career as a professional West End DJ whilst an undergraduate, he formed an international management and record company, managing chart-topping and multi-award winning artists, whilst simultaneously qualifying as a solicitor of England and Wales.

It is this practical background in entertainment that gives Rubikon a cutting edge in business and legal services in all sectors of the entertainment and sports businesses. For us, it is not only our experience in “dotting i’s and crossing t’s” in contracts, but also, the application of our own first hand practical industry experience that helps us understand our clients vision and grow their business.

In 2010, the founder was headhunted from his role as external legal counsel and appointed Managing Director of VoxAfrica PLC, the first multi-lingual Pan African TV platform. He went on to build it into a global media company with offices in London, Brussels, Paris, Douala, Accra and Lagos. The company went on to broadcast to over 60 million homes on multiple global platforms such as Sky, DSTV, GoTV, Startimes, Canal and Orange. With many firsts in original programming, he created a multi-award winning general entertainment channel, offering sports, business and news programming, alongside ground-breaking entertainment programmes such as “American Confidential” and “Live in Battersea”. Both programmes featured Afrobeat stars such as Davido, Whiz Kid, D’Banj, Wande Coal and Tiwa Savage performing for the first time on TV in the USA and UK.

In 2015, the founder returned full-time to Rubikon, adding TV clients to the company’s existing music, entertainment and sport client base, whilst expanding into mainland Europe, the USA, the Caribbean and Africa.
